What are Mystery Quests?

Mystery Quests are a group of themed rooms filled with engaging and thought provoking puzzles, clues and logic. You will work together with your team to complete the mission and escape from the room as fast as you can.

How many people can play?

For the best experience, a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 8-10 players can be in our rooms. For fewer players, it is harder to find and figure out all the clues.

What if I have too few or too many people to play in a room?

You will be added to another room with people you may or may not know. You want to have a great time, so you can buy the whole room if you only want to be with people you know. We know that it is important that you do well and it is fun to work on teams and to meet new people as well.

How young is appropriate for these games?

The games are not scary, but safe and fun and best for 13 year olds and above. If you want to rent out the entire room for a private party, we can change the room only with enough notice to accommodate younger guests with age-appropriate easier puzzles. If you would like to bring children younger than 13 to play our rooms, or if you have a young Sherlock Holmes on your hands, any age can participate as long as they are accompanied by an adult. We require that you play along with them and there is no reduced price for children under 13.

How long is the adventure going to last?

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time. You can learn the game rules and familiarize yourself with the story and theme. We will ask you to sign a waiver which is also available on the website for you to review, print and bring with you. Please be willing to share your email if you want to receive a picture at the end of your team. When you enter the room, you will have 60 minutes of fun using puzzles, logic, clues and locks to escape the room. There is an emergency key to get out of the room for your use at anytime, but if you use it for anything other than an emergency, the adventure is over. For everyone.

What happens if I am running late?

Please let us know as soon as you can if you won't make your room reservation on time. We will try our best to make sure you have enough time to play your game, but you may have a shorter time or be put together with another team, as there are slots available. Ten minutes after your booked time, we will start your game clock. Many players who escape do so with less than five minutes left on the clock, starting minutes late will almost certainly doom your team to not make it out in time.

What accommodations are made to people with disabilities?

At this time, we are not wheelchair accessible as we are in a second floor office with steps and no elevator. Someone in the group will have to be mobile to accomplish the tasks in the game. You may receive visual and verbal hints, so there must be at least one person on the team who can hear and see fully to communicate the clues to the rest of team.

What about parking?

Parking is available in front of the building at 5526 North Academy. If coming North on Academy, turn left onto Montebello one road north of Union and turn right into the first driveway. We are in the third building on the second floor. If coming South on North Academy turn into Montebello Plaza before Montebello at Kemper Galleries and Ez Pawn Shop.

Can I take pictures with my phone or a camera in the rooms?

There are no cameras allowed in the room so that everyone can enjoy the rooms and to keep the surprise in place for future players. Try not to spoil it for future game participants. PLEASE leave purses, backpacks, cellphones, and cameras locked in your car during the Mystery Quests adventure.

What about corporate or business events?

What about school or homeschool groups?

You can schedule a group through booking through the website. There will be the ability to incorporate history in each of the rooms. Please contact us at info@mystery-quests.com or Marketing at 719-822-3676 to create a custom experience. We have a place to share a meal, but no food or drink is provided or available on site.

What about a private event?

Please contact us at info@mystery-quests.com or 719-822-3676 to discuss specifically what you need. We can accommodate fund raising, family events, birthday parties, pre-wedding and retirement events. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink to celebrate after your Mystery Quest. Call for more information.

How many people are in the room?

We allow a maximum of 8-10 participants per game depending on the room selected.

What if I do not like the thought of being locked in a room for an hour?

We have a camera and watch the group for any problems, there is a window in the 10th Mountain Division and Cuban Missile Crisis rooms. If you don’t solve the puzzles and escape in an hour, we let you out of the room. You also have an emergency envelope in the room with a key for emergency exit, but if it is used, the Mystery Quest is over.

Can I do it again?

Once you’ve done the room, obviously you could ruin the fun for other participants if you have escaped. However, if you did not escape the room,we allow a second chance only with other people who have already attempted and not escaped. If you would like to come back with another group of friends, you can observe your friends attempting the same puzzle room at no charge to you. Hopefully, you didn’t tell them clues.

Do I have to have 10 people in my group to play?

The maximum capacity of each game is 10, but you do not have to have 10 people in your group to play the game. We will put you with other people who are playing the game as well. It is a great way to meet new people and learn teamwork with strangers. Again, if you want to rent the entire room, just sign up for all the slots.

What happens if I am late, or my entire group has not arrived when we begin?

The game begins at exactly the time prescribed. If you are late, you may not be allowed into the room. If another room that day has openings, we will try to accommodate, however there will be no refunds.

What if I can’t solve a riddle or clue?

Teamwork is important so work as a group to solve the clues. Since we are monitoring the room, if you are stuck we will provide up to three clues maximum. They will be given to you orally, on the computer monitor or on a piece of paper.

Can I use my Cell Phone?

No. Cell phones, cameras, and other electronic devices are not allowed into the room.

What do I need to bring with me?

Nothing but a sense of fun and adventure.

What if I want just my group to be in the room?

If you want to have just your friends or family experience the game, simplypurchase all the tickets for a show, or we can arrange a special time. Please contact marketing at info@mystery-quests.com for pricing and availability.

Do I have to be really smart or good at puzzles and games?

Nothing in the game requires special training, math skills or mental strength. It is best if you come prepared to work as a team, share what you find, and use all the skills of everyone in the room in order to have the best possible experience. Some of the puzzles and clues require you to think “outside-the-box”, but nothing in the room is “unsolvable”.
